VERIFY EMAIL ACCOUNTS VERIFICATION
I don’t think Kong has tried it yet – not to mention, email verification is such a basic security feature- so why reject something when it hasn’t even been tried yet? Now if you can come up with a better solution…but you haven’t but just said that you’re “not too sure if adding an email verification would fix the real problem”.

Now, just think…how will the games ratings work themselves out, if all it takes for someone to boost a 15th rank to 1st rank with a total of 50,000+ ratings is only a few hours of work? Even if the ratings even out eventually (which will take like weeks or months at least), they can always re-arrange it with minimal time and efforts. Don’t you think it’s a waste of moderator’s time and efforts? But even if they’re reported and they get banned, they can always make a new account within seconds with almost zero efforts.

“Feel free to report any abuse or suspicious activity blahblahblah…” is so cliche and such an official line of defense from customer relations xd Plus, if only I knew who they are, i would report them.
VERIFY EMAIL ACCOUNTS MODS
This all points to the problem with the current registering system: it’s just too easy to get a new account and some people are abusing first of all, I just wanna say that you’ve been one of my favorite mods so the follow has nothing against you personally but if you’re representing kong in some ways, it sounds you guys know this problem but you’re too lazy to implement appropriate yet very basic measures to solve it instead, kong expects mods to police these endlessly regenerating alts/trolls and think it’s effective? Oh poohhleeese!!
VERIFY EMAIL ACCOUNTS REGISTRATION
I know for a fact that level 1 accounts cannot rate games and that there’s a CAPTCHA-like challenge-response test upon registration (but it was too easy) and it’s obvious he/she or it has somehow bypassed these checks. To be able to do that, someone has to register new accounts on a massive scale with macro or something like that. (mind you, it only has around 800 or so votes and the game has been up for a few weeks) For someone to be able to re-assign rankings, it’s not only detrimental to devs income/revenue but also, it destroys good games by making it “invisible” to new players.Ĭase in point: Fantasy online was rank 15th yesterday but today it’s 1st on multiplayer top rank list some other games like Co-op toon shooter: Rise of the fleet got like 200 1-star votes within 2 hours. Afterall, their games’ ability to generate revenue depends heavily on traffic, which in turn depends on their games’ ranking and their visibility to players. Very recently, there has been a problem with people using this loophole to boost/drop certain games’ rankings and I bet it makes both developers and players feel unfair how someone can re-arrange the top ranking list so easily under a few hours literally. Instead of asking moderators to ban/mute trolls, why not tightening up your registering system so that it sends a verification link to the registered email and then once it’s been verified, they can proceed with their new account? It’s been well known that registering for an account on kongregate takes literally seconds and as a result, there has been a huge increase in alts and trolling accounts on the rise both in chats and in forums.
